SKINLAB Frontman To Launch Side Project At 420 FESTIVAL PRE-PARTY

DEF:IGNITION, the new side project of SKINLAB frontman Steev Esquivel, will be making their live debut on Friday, April 18 at the Pound in San Francisco. The band, who feature Esquivel on guitar/vocals, will be joined on the bill by ARMAGETITON (featuring SKINLAB drummer Paul Hopkins),KRENSHAW, and DRAGWATER. DEF:IGNITION, whose sound has been described as mixture of HELMET and ALICE IN CHAINS, will be playing a 25-minute set during the show, which is being staged as part of the 420 Festival Pre-Party. A debut demo is tentatively set to be recorded during May/June. In related news, SKINLAB have been busy writing "sick-ass stuff" during the past few weeks, according to Esquivel, who tells BLABBERMOUTH.NET that the band are "on fuckin' fire. So far we've written two songs that are fuckin' BRUTAL! We're not fuckin' around this next record. We're totally focused on making the best SKINLAB record ever. We'll be going out to Reno, Nevada April 12 to record the 'new' material as well as a few others that will probably be used on a later release."
